Our Creche Room 1 provides a caring and stimulating environment for infants aged 18 months to 2 years. In this room there are a maximum of 12 infants cared for by our experienced, nurturing educators. The restricted numbers in this room means your child has the best possible opportunity to develop a range of skills in a fun learning environment.

Our Creche Room 1 Program follows the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)(2009).  This framework is an important curriculum document which guides our practice as educators. It has a specific emphasis on play-based learning and recognises the importance of communication and language (including early literacy and numeracy) and social and emotional development. There are five main Learning Outcomes within this Framework designed to reflect a child’s learning development. These include the following:

  • Children have a strong sense of identity
  • Children are connected with and contribute to their world
  • Children have a strong sense of wellbeing
  • Children are confident and involved learners
  • Children are effective communicators.

By following this Framework our educators are able to provide small group activities which provide your child with opportunities to develop a sound foundation for learning. Our educators recognise the importance of independence and they encourage the children to build on their emerging skills of autonomy by feeding and dressing themselves and caring for their own belongings.

At the Centre we value the importance family and community play in shaping a child’s identity and this is incorporated in our Creche Room 1 program in order to provide a relevant context for your child.
